Working in The Media Industry

Apprenticeship Research:

What is an apprenticeship?:
  • An apprenticeship is one of the alternatives to University for those leaving education.
  • An apprenticeship is a paid job where you are given on-the-job training alongside hands-on experience where you gain the valuable skills needed to work within the industry of the placement itself.
  • In an apprenticeship, you spend a fifth of your time (roughly) in a classroom-based environment in a university or training program so you end up with a nationally recognized qualification as well as job experience from the actual apprenticeship itself.
  • Apprenticeships help people gain new knowledge in a job environment, aiding those in the role to become more competent, skillful, and trustworthy in an occupation role. If you show you are capable during an apprenticeship it can also lead to the company hiring you at the end of your placement which is a bonus.
